Titas and Improvement . . .

Assalamualaikum,

TITAS stands for "Tamadun Islam dan Tamaduan Asia ~~Selatan~~" . Last Thursday , it was the finale for this season *for titas only*. As early as 8.30 a.m , Kamil and I drove our sports car and parked it in front of the DATC. (flash back : last night studying titas like tuttt -.-') . We walked past the other students (from other faculty) and they seem to be looking at us suspiciously. Kamil assume that they must be talking about us. (something like this : "Tu dia budak2 medik dah sampai , tengok dari jauh pon dah nampak skemanya -_____-" ) . Ignoring them , I opened my beg and reached for the titas's revisi book , while doing that Kamil gave me a few input. He looks kinda like "Misbun Sidek" coaching Chong Wei and I'm like "Chong Wei" listening attentively knowing that I only managed to read 3 chapters out of 6 chapter in that book. The exam runs for 2 hours and with "guards" all over the place."One slip could mean death". HAHA. Please don't asked me how tough the questions is?

Episode 2 : 6/1/2012

Today have been a really busy day with two SGS occurring on the same day. *Btw , SGS stands for small group session*. SGS Physiology and SGS Biochemistry. The sgs for biochemistry starts after Friday prayer. Thanks to the Rengit bus *a free bus that take students to the faculty and back to the residential college* , I managed to reach my faculty as early as an angry bird. HEHE. You know what? Here's the "interesting" part , upon reaching the pantry (that belong to medic students). Kamil and I saw many people were crowding in front of the notice board. Immediately , I knew that the result for the 2nd progress test is out. *Gulp* . Searching for my matrix number thoroughly on the list and.. Ahah! found it! huh? I couldn't believe my eyes at first but then.. Alhamdullilah , I got a 'B' for my second progress test. Yeah , I'd achieved my target to get a "B" for my 2nd progress test and I'm satisfied with it. Next target : to get an A for my 3rd progress test (MSK module). The momentum is there and I could feel it now. This positive result is timely as it shows improvement.Yeah , 'Improvement' , the one thing that I consistently wanna get in my life. "Success is other thing but to improve is great".

p/s : to those who fails , do not feel upset because "It doesn't matter where you start , what matter is where you end". Let's us rise again for the next test my friend =)

*Nothing is free in this world*

Today , I had just realized that my chatbox is no longer functioning.*damn* Yeah , I'm talking about the chatbox on my side bar. When I pressed at the link given it says this :

Free service has to stop

Thanks for using ShoutMix for all these year. I have been providing free shoutboxes on the World Wide Web for over 7 years now. It wasn't long before I realized being 100% free is not sustainable. Just before ShoutMix's first birthday, it almost had to be closed.

ShoutMix has tried to work with the freemium business model ever since. Conversion rates were low with the first version. With the second version, things improved and I have had more paying customers. Fortunately people liked the service and started paying for more features.

With that in mind, the new third version was developed to make things better for free and paid users alike. It was developed with lots of feedback from users over the course of several years. Meanwhile my biggest goal remained: to improve conversion rate to keep things sustainable and profitable, all while making ShoutMix a really high quality product for everyone.

One of the most mentioned feedback was that the old free version was too restrictive. Others are less trivial, just make it better, more premium features, more powerful stuff, avatar support, real time push update, really good spam protection, support for really high traffic situations, etc.

Finally, in November 2011, the new version 3 was completed. It was launched successfully and very smoothly. It was a great moment.

During the first month since launch, the reception went really well. New sign ups are in the thousands daily. Just within a month, almost 50,000 users have signed up! Hundreds of thousands of messages posted. Over 10,000 users from Facebook. Generally, users loved the new version. The growth are massive.

So, what went bad?

The conversion rate did not go up. In fact it fell lower. Our stats show 99.93% of users either have no intention to upgrade or are just happy with our free service. Worst of all, some customers have actually stopped paying and switched to our free service! It may seems to be good news for everyone right now, but it is really bad news for all of us.

By offering too much with our free plan, we cannibalized our paid plans. Happy users did not make more paying customers. The projections are bad. Only 0.07% users are customers. These are the people who keep ShoutMix sustainable as a business. Business is the part making ShoutMix exists for everyone. If it keeps on going this way, ShoutMix will not be sustainable any more and will need to close down in the near future.

The freemium model is broken for us.

Some argued that ShoutMix can easily monetize its free service with ads. It has been tried, but the rates were terrible. Beautiful, unobstructive ads do not pay well for ShoutMix. We can probably do better with flashy popup ads, but no thank you. Our competitors do it with popup ads. But there is no way ShoutMix is going to commit such ugly sin.

ShoutMix is becoming more of a premium product. In fact it already has. ShoutMix is designed to be the best in the industry. With passion plus personal investments of time, money and labor of over 7 years, ShoutMix has outgrown the freemium model.

So where do we go from here?

I have two choices. One, allow ShoutMix to become unsustainable. This is bad news for everyone. The other choice is to stop our free service. It is becoming obvious that this is where ShoutMix should go. And so, ShoutMix is not going to be free any more.

Existing users will be able to continue using their accounts at no cost right now. The transition will begin within a few weeks. Eventually, users with free accounts will need to switch to a paying plan or stop using the service. The date is set at January 1, 2012. After this date, free accounts will stop working unless upgraded to a paid plan.

The good news is that ShoutMix will be available for only $0.99/month and will be available effective immediately. For our old version (the Classic) it will only be available in Premium package which costs approximately $1.67/month.

Existing customers are unaffected by all these changes. In fact, ShoutMix is going to be really awesome for our current and future customers. Our focus will be to make paying customers extremely happy and they will get 100% of our resources. If you are one of our customers, things are just going to get a lot better for you.

ShoutMix has always been a product with great passion. It is just unfortunate that it did not work out as a free product. We all have to move on. And ShoutMix will continue to be the most affordable, high quality and premium live chat software that everyone can use and love.

Crossroad. . .

Assalamualaikum ,

Yeah it has been a while since I last updated my blog *cliche*. By the way , I'm now in the MSK (Musculoskeletal) module. Things have not went according to plan or rather I didn't plan at all. *total loser* . I realized that my recent post have not been that positive. It's as though I've lost my motivation. Unfortunately , It is true , I've lost it. The enthusiasm that I had in me at the beginning is slowly fading. There are a lot of things to remember yet there are so little time. Final exam is coming nearer day by day..(5 weeks left).*I felt so left behind*

I'm sorry if you guys have to read this but it is true life as a medical student is tough. When I say "Tough" , I really mean it . no kidding . I realized there are so many things that I've yet to cover while the others have already done that. I wouldn't like to speculate things but they do leave me behind about a miles away.*Based on my point of view* ("They" refers to my other colleagues).

Indeed it is my mistakes after all , take things for granted and like to revise topics on the eleventh hour. The disadvantage of being at home for me and few others is when we are at home , we tend to leave our books behind. We are busy doing other things rather than doing our revision. For example , as for me , when I'm at home , I would always give my full attention to my family. Family first . But doing that means I'll sacrifice my revision time. You see , It is like you are at a crossroad and you have to choose one of the route.Plus, I'm trying to prove that medical students do not always carries their books with them wherever they go.*It is proven if only I've got a proper planning i.e. proper time management*

Despite that , I've not lost my passion to become a doctor one day. That passion have drive me to go through this thick time and push myself back to the so-called "optimum level".To do that I need to have PROPER TIME MANAGEMENT and DESIRE to succeed. After going through the General Module (GM) , now I began to cope with the stress and pressure of being a medical student. I know what I have to do to rectify my shortcomings. "The biggest enemy of you is your own self" . *Ya Allah , give me the strength and the will to do what I've to do and guide me through this crucial moment.*

New Year Resolution:

1. To change my attitude to become a better person. (hablum minallah wa hablu minannas)

2. To have a proper time management.

3. To score no less than a "B" for every progress test.

4. To get an "A" for this semester. (to score higher and maintain consistency for other semester.)

5. To do revision and assignment as early as possible. (priority)

6. To be a better son , better grandchildren , better nephew , better cousin , better mukmin , better friend , better student and a better person.

7. To be more motivated and confident.

8. To improve my interpersonal skills.

9. To be a successful person and being able to inspire others.

10. To get married after receiving my degree scroll *5 years from now*

Suatu Ketika Dahulu...

Assalamualaikum,

Entri kali ini akan merungkai satu persatu persoalan yang bermain-main di benak fikiran kalian. Ya , sepertimana tajuknya Blog dan Tamadun , aku akan menulis serba sedikit tentang bagaimana blog ini boleh wujud atau lebih tepat lagi sejarah kewujudan blog ni. (Pengaruh TITAS telah menyebabkan aku tulis entri ni..haha).

Sejarah Awal Kewujudan Blog :

Hmm..kisahnya bermula begini....(jika versi bahasa inggerisnya - It all started when...) sila sambung ayat di atas tidak kurang daripada 500 patah perkataan..HAHA.. (Ketawa sopan).

Okay , berbalik kepada tajuk kita tadi , blog ini telah didaftarkan semenjak Oktober 2008 lagi. Namun begitu , entri pertamanya bertajuk "Taufiq's homecoming" hadir pada 7 November 2008. Maka dari detik dan saat itu secara rasminya aku menjadi seorang blogger ~~yang tampan lagi macho~~.

Pencetus Inspirasi :

Jadi siapakah yang telah menjadi sumber inspirasi untuk aku mula menulis blog ini? *drumroll* Terdapat dua orang sebenarnya , mereka adalah Siti Nadia binti Hasnan dan Nabil Harith bin Mohd Najib. Kedua-dua adalah sahabat baik aku semenjak dari sekolah menengah lagi. Persahabatan kami menjadi lebih akrab ketika kami memasuki tingkatan tiga (3 Jaya).Pada perkiraan aku ketika itu ,gaya penulisan mereka yang kreatif , menarik dan matang yang telah membuatkan aku tertarik untuk menulis blog. (masing-masing kembang hidunglah lepas ni..hahaha)

Pemilihan Nama Blog :

Bagi pemilihan nama blog ini sebenarnya berlaku sejak akhir tingkatan tiga lagi. Waktu tu aku dan nabil tengah berjalan-jalan lepas habis makan dekat kantin sekolah menuju ke bilik darjah. Then suddenly , it strikes me...ZAPPP!! "hijrahseorangmukmin.blogspot.com." Sebenarnya , nabil harith lah yang sedang ketika itu bercerita tentang blog dia dan ~~menghasut~~ mengajak aku untuk berkecimpung dalam dunia blogging ni.

Penggunaan Bahasa :

Pada mulanya blog ini di tulis dalam bahasa Inggeris supaya ianya setaraf dengan bahasa antarabangsa dan mampu untuk menembusi pasaran luar negara. (gaya macam nak jual produk pulak..haha). Kemudiannya , setelah mengambil kira sudut-sudut tertentu dan untuk memperkasakan lagi bahasa ibunda , blog ini telah bertukar menjadi dwibahasa yakni akan ada entri dalam bahasa inggeris dan juga bahasa melayu. Entri pertama dalam bahasa melayu ialah entri khas : Ihya Ramadhan pada 29 julai 2011 , di mana aku telah menyatakan hasrat untuk merombak bahasa yang digunakan di dalam blog ini.

Misi dan Visi Blog :

Antara kandungan yang terdapat di dalam blog ini merangkumi isu-isu semasa (dalam dan luar negara) , pengalaman hidup aku , nilai-nilai islamik , pendapat peribadi , erti persahabatan , kehidupan sebagai seorang pelajar perubatan , politik (neutral) dan sebagainya. (Anda boleh lihat dan baca entri dalam blog ini untuk mengetahui lebih lanjut). The most important things is "I'm here to inspire and to be inspired". -Taufiq-

Fans dan Follower :

Jumlah terkumpul setakat ini ialah 284 follower...hm..not so bad lah kan. *sedapkan hati*. Matlamat utama penubuhan blog juga tercapai kerana statistik menunjukkan masyarakat luar negara juga turut mengunjungi blog ini cuma tak jadi follower je tetapi tak mengapa , mungkin mereka menjadi "silent reader" seperti kebanyakan pelawat-pelawat yang mengunjungi blog ini. Walau apapun , aku ingin mengucapkan ribuan terima kasih kerana tidak henti-henti memberi sokongan dan dokongan walaupun di sebalik tabir. Really appreciate it and kalau boleh berilah input dan komen-komen anda yang membina supaya blog ini boleh "improve" lagi pada masa hadapan.

Kaitan Blog dan Tamadun :

Dewasa ini , kita dikejutkan dengan media baru iaitu blog , yang telah melonjak naik sebagai wadah yang amat berkuasa. Hal ini dapat di lihat bagaimana kewujudan blog-blog ini yang telah menjadi media alternatif menggantikan media perdana seperti surat khabar dan televisyen mahupun radio. The popular uprising of the Egyptian people can be a good example. Contoh lain ialah Pilihan raya ke dua belas (PRU-12) dimana parti politik pembangkang telah berjaya merampas beberapa buah negeri di Malaysia dan juga telah mengurangkan majoriti 2/3 parlimen yang dimiliki sebelum ini oleh kerajaan. Pihak pembangkang telah menggunakan media alternatif seperti blog untuk menyampaikan mesej dan manifesto mereka.

Selain itu , kewujudan blog-blog ini telah mengubah pemikiran rakyat Malaysia yang menjadi semakin matang dan celik IT. Manakala , isu luar negara seperti isu pencerobahan rejim Zionas terhadap penduduk Palestin juga dapat disampaikan dengan pantas. Perkembangan peristiwa letupan di loji Nuklear Fukushima , info sukan seperti kemenangan pasukan Malaysia baru-baru ini dalam perlawanan bola sepak Sukan SEA , dan sebagainya dapat diketahui lebih awal melalui blog-blog ini. Pendek kata , blogger seperti wartawan bebas yang melaporkan apa sahaja isu yang berlaku samada dalam dan luar negara.

Kesimpulannya, kewujudan blog mampu untuk mencorak tamadun sesuatu bangsa dan negara.Oleh itu , aku ingin sekali menjadikan blog aku ini sebagai sesuatu yang berfaedah dan bukannya blog picisan.

Latarbelakang Empunya Blog :

Last sekali baru teringat nak memperkenalkan diri..haha..okay, nama di beri Ahmad Taufiq Bin Hanif Salihudin. Dilahirkan pada 15 September 1992 . Berasal dari Klang , Selangor. Mendapat pendidikan awal di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (STAR). Sedang melanjutkan pelajaran dalam jurusan Perubatan dan Pembedahan (MBBS) di UiTM Shah Alam. Masih single and available..HAHA. Cintakan Tanah Air dan masih mencari hidayah Allah S.W.T. The Destiny Awaits.

Assalamualaikum ,

It has been a while since I last updated this blog. Yeah , that is why tonight will be the right time to update my blog. This is the first time I'm gonna write an entry without putting the title first. Thus , any title that I will put up later will be the main idea about what I want to emphasize in my entry. So please bare with me as this gonna be a long post.

Part 1

Friday : 28th October 2011

Yea , I still remembered that moment. It was a cold Friday night. Eddy and I run through the forbidden forest (shortcut). From the news that we heard , there will be a "Nite Run : Tribute to Palestine" and the starting point is at the marching field. After running through the forest , finally we made it. fuhhh..tiring it is..I promised to myself that will be the last time I will use that "shortcut".At first I thought we were already late but then I saw about a "battalion" students were still listening to the speech by the vice chancellor. I was a bit relieved to know that I'm not that late.

Eddy and I were searching for our friends since we were a bit late. At last , we found them with the kenangas (referring to our residential college).There was KK (not the real name) , Pali , Syakir , Arif , Hafizi and few others I don't quite remembered. After the speech ended, It was the time that we were all waiting for.The so-called nite run.The race starts and It seems that we were moving quite slowly like Jemaah Haji. You just imagine how can a "battalion" students starts running at the same time.

After about one kilometer , the only person left besides me is KK. (why must be him..why???? HAHA).So we formulated a new strategies that will most likely make us win in this race.The winner will get a hamper , a limited edition perindu's bottle and food.While ,the first 500 people will get the limited edition perindu's bottle and food.For the losers will get nothing.HAHA.Back to our brilliant strategy , we will run only when we were going down a hill and we will jog when we going up the hill.The strategy really works as it reduces the time for lactic acid to accumulate to our muscle that will lead to fatigue.

However, I did felt the effect of lactic acid that was starting to accumulate in my muscle since I didn't warm up first before the race started.My bad actually. Hmm..after all the running , finally I saw the marching field. (The endpoint was also at the marching field).Yesss, we finally made it , I sprint to the last of my ATP (adenosine triphosphate). Then , I saw the JPK abbreviated for "Jawatankuasa Perwakilan Kolej" shouting "coupon.. coupon.. coupon..". KK and I immediately "drift" to the left and registered our name , got our coupon , the limited edition bottle and the food.

There were sigh of relieved from both of us because finally we won.Unfortunately , after about ten to fifteen minutes wandering at the marching field , came a young man asking us " Eh, kad ni nak buat apa ha?". I was like "kad? what kad?" while checking the card thoroughly. DAMN! I suddenly realised that we actually didn't finished our race yet since we were suppose to go straight not to the left.Without wasting any time , KK and I raced to the finished line awkwardly since we were holding our bottle and food. Yup , we didn't get any card since the winner have already taken it.We were the sore losers but at least we did have fun.Right KK?

Lesson : Do not be greedy to get something (i.e coupon) or else you will risk losing a bigger things.

Part 2

Saturday : 29th October 2011

It was freezing cold Saturday morning and today for the 3rd time, Intervarsity Games (IVG) will be held in UiTM Shah Alam. So what's IVG? Basically , IVG is a games kinda like Olympic games between Faculty of Medicine from different university competing each other in a selected tournament which includes private university such as AIMST , UCSI , MMMC , UTAR and few others.
Of course , I didn't entered any of the games since the only game that I'm good at which is badminton didn't includes in the list of games played in this tournament. So I chose to be the paramedic rather than nothing.The irony is who needs a paramedic when the games is between Medic faculty. I'll emphasize it again.Games played between MEDIC FACULTY. get it? (They can obviously tend to their own injuries.)

p/s : Thank God.They were only a few injuries occur during the tournament primarily muscle cramp.

Part 3

I'm running out of idea already and it's only part 3.Haha.Okay , I would like to talk about SAF aka Sukan Antara Fakulti. Basically , I'm entering the selection in badminton to represent the faculty of medicine against other faculty. Frankly speaking , It has been a while since I last played badminton and you know when you didn't played that game regularly , you will feel awkward when you start to play that game again. That's what happened to me during the training for the selection. I was like losing my focus and rhythm.Playing like #@*% in front of a few people that kinda embarrassing to me. It's such a disgrace going down tamely to an unseeded opponent.I feel that I can do much better than that but....hmm..well , I'm gonna pull out from that selection anyway. There are few others who are great enough to represent our faculty rather than me. Maybe next time , when I found my rhythm back and played regularly as before I'll come back to challenge ~~Chong Wei.~~ HAHA.

Part 4

Friday : 4th November 2011

It was indeed a sorrow day for me. I'd just got my Progress Test (PT) result and it spells "C". Alhamdulillah , I managed to pass the test even though I didn't really managed to cover all the topic before the test. Someone has somehow post at my wall in Facebook that day congratulate me for getting an A for my PT. It was absolutely not true and I hereby clarify that I didn't get an A. Seriously , it causes misleading to a few people who then congratulate me and it also further deepen my sadness. But don't worry , to that person who is responsible for all this. Lucky for you I'm not that sensitive or "emo" kinda guy. (chill la bro).HAHA.

Okay , back to the PT result, I admit it is my mistake not to revise the subjects during my free time instead I was busy playing Facebook or doing something else that is less urgent and important to me. Immediately after the test I'd reschedule my time table and planning new strategies that will InsyaAllah improve my result for the second PT. I will try to do my best to get not only an A but A* for the next PT. Lesson learned and now time to move on.I remembered a quote from a doctor who had once treat me. That time I'm not even a medical student. I asked him ,"Is it hard to pass a medical test/exam?". He said , "Everyone can pass an examination but being a good doctor and passing a test is a different things."

Moral : Being a good doctor doesn't mean that you must always get a distinction or pass your examination.It's more than that. How you treat your patient and other things are more important.

There is one poem that I liked the most especially when I am down. The poem "If" by Rudyard Kipling. Here's the poem looks like :

If you can keep your head when all about you

There is a great news amid the sorrowfulness , disappointment , and sadness as I will have a two weeks of break following Hari Raya Aidiladha and midsem break. The breaks is timely and greatly needed as it give me an ample time to reflect back on what is lacking in my performance so far. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha. We should take lesson from the event where Prophet Ibrahim A.S was instructed by Allah to sacrifice his son Prophet Ismail A.S. and without hesitation Prophet Ibrahim follows the ordered. As a reward , the sacrifice is change into a lamb to replaced Prophet Ismail A.S. It is actually a test for Prophet Ibrahim and he pass the test given by Allah.

Mencari sesuatu yang hilang ! ~

Assalamualaikum..

Jam menunjukkan tepat pukul 1 pagi namun tidakku hiraukan waktu tersebut . Jari-jemari yang rancak di atas papan kekunci membuatkan aku teruja seketika untuk meng"update" blog ini . Jikalau mengikutkan hati sudah tentu akan ku tinggalkan sahaja blog ini kesepian , tapi TIDAKK.. mana mungkin aku buat sebegitu . Nafasku terhenti seketika memikirkan alangkah indahnya hidup aku saat dan ketika ini , hanya menulis tanpa tekanan .Tidak ada soalan SGS yang perlu aku jawab , Tidak ada graf biochemistry yang perlu aku lukis , tidak ada lecture note anatomy yang perlu aku hafal , tidak ada buku guyton (physiology) untuk aku fahamkan , tidak ada nota-nota yang perlu aku salin semula dan pastinya tidak ada makhluk halus (microbes) yang perlu aku perhatikan . Yang ada hanya aku dan blog .

Angin malam menghembus lembut ke wajahku membuat aku sedikit tersengguk-sengguk keletihan .Hari- hari yang berlalu mengajar aku banyak perkara . Sebagaimana komander kesatria mengajarku tentang erti disiplin sambil menutur kata "Budak medik , budak baik.." (dengan nada sinis) . Aku tahu , seharusnya malam ini aku berehat untuk menggantikan sel-sel yang telah mati akibat aktiviti-aktiviti sepanjang minggu..tapi sekali lagi aku tegaskan...Tidakk! belum lagi.. masih banyak yang perlu aku bicarakan pada malam ini . Mungkin pada fikiran kalian "ape kena mamat nih..emo malam2 buta".. (ahhh !..pedulik kan semua itu.)

Hari yang berlalu sudah membuatkan aku sedikit cemas dengan keadaanku sekarang. Nota-Nota yang telahku catat sewaktu di dalam ruangan syarahan masih belum sempat aku sisipkan ke dalam neuron otakku. Kekadang syarahan yang diberi juga membuatkan aku sedikit bingung . Itu tidak lagi termasuk dengan nota-nota yang tidak sempat aku catatkan disebabkan kepantasan pensyarah berlumba menyempurnakan syarahannya. Begitu juga dengan sesi praktikal.. Ya , memang aku bergerak aktif sewaktu sesi praktikal dijalankan.. Namun , apabila aku ditugaskan untuk menyiapkan laporan makmal..aku tersentap seketika..hairan..hilang arah.. bingung..tentang cara-cara menyiapkannya. Lalu aku biarkan sahaja untuk aku siapkan laporan tersebut keesokkan harinya. (Harapan lah~)

Tidak tahu dari mana perlu aku memulakan pembelajaran walhal nota-notaku sudah bertimbun tidak terusik. Kata-kata dekan " You can sleep but do it with your eyes open" masih terngiang-ngiang dibenak fikiranku. Namun apakan daya terkadang terlelap jua sewaktu sesi syarahan akibat keletihan. Topik-topik baru muncul tanpa belas kasihan meninggalkan mereka yang hanyut terpinga-pinga dalam kegelapan. Itu termasuklah aku. Kesempitan waktu mula menghimpitku dari segenap ruang membuatkan aku sesak bersendirian.

Masalah-masalah yang timbul membuatkan aku mulai gugup. Tapi tidak mengapa.. kerana Allah bersamaku.. Itu yang aku sentiasa harapkan.. Kekadang aku jua lalai menyiapkan tugasan seharianku sehingga aku terlupa tanggungjawabku kepadaNya.. Aku terasa diri ini semakin hanyut dan jauh dariNya.. Mungkin juga kerana faktor itu membuatkan hatiku resah dan gelisah. Wahai hati janganlah kau terleka dengan hal dunia sehingga kau melupakan akhirat..jikalau tidak , inilah akibatnya!! sekarang barulah aku sedar.. rupa-rupanya telah jauh aku meninggalkanMu..Namun Kau masih ada disisiku..memberi peringatan demi peringatan supaya aku kembali mendekatiMu..Aku amat bersyukur Ya Allah dah aku mohon padaMu.. Kau kembalikanlah aku ke jalanMu.. Bimbinglah aku..Kuatkanlah aku untuk menghadapi kehidupan ini.. Amin Ya Rabbal Alamin !

Jam menunjukkan pukul 2 pagi.. cukuplah kiranya untuk aku berhenti disini . Mungkin akanku sambung di lain hari..(itu pun belum pasti!) . Yang pasti . bantal empukku sudah menanti.. hatiku pun sudah mula kembali tenang..inilah ketenangan yang ku cari..muhasabah di malam hari~

Assalamualaikum,

Last week have been "awesome"..why "awesome" ? I'll explain it through out this entry...First and foremost , It was awesome because it's the day where I officially registered in UiTM as a medical student...( YAY !!)..Secondly , It was the orientation week a.k.a minggu destini siswa..There were many things that we did during the week...there were briefing , filling up registration form , briefing , opening ceremony by Vice Chancellor of UiTM , briefing again....and all sort of briefing continued through out the week. yup , of course I did fall asleep between those briefings..hahaha

The Dato' Vice Chancellor have given such an inspirational speech about "Destini Anak Bangsa"..I didn't see any racial remark in any of his speech..then came Y.B. Dato Razali Bin Ibrahim representing the goverment in the slot " Taklimat bersama Tokoh"...As you know , university students like us are bound to Akta Universiti (AUKU) that forbid any student from involving in politics..that does not include them (referring to the government) so they are free to come here and give a speech about politics..However , in UiTM there's Akta 174 replacing the AUKU but still contain the same rules..Y.B Dato' Razali has talk about merdeka...then come the Mat Indera case...and Mat Sabu..I just don't get it with these politics guys...they came to university to give this kind of speech than bound us from saying anything...not trying to politicise here but how can they repeatedly said that the student should be very thankful to the government for offering them a scholarship and providing many facilities to the students...It's really irritate me because they are saying as though the money came from the government where it's actually coming from the people (rakyat)...DONE !

Part 2

The seniors have been very kind in a fierce way and also helpful...There was one night where we were ~~forced~~ to wake up at 1.30 a.m while we had just slept at 1 o'clock in the morning..and I kinda confused at that time not knowing what's going to happen next..to make matter worst I even forgot to wear my spectacle...Thus , I was like a semi-blinded person running towards the field...yup, we were instructed to gather at the field that night...we were scolded for a mistake made by some other students...we had to do star-jump..and squat down until 3.30 a.m..It was very tiring and it's shown clearly when I slept during the speech by the VC..hehe

Other than that I would like to acknowledge the seniors for their patient , dedication and perseverance in dealing with us..we would like to apologies if we have done wrong and thank you so much for helping us during the registration process..Things weren't so bad as it looks because the seniors are very sporting actually , only sometimes when we did something wrong (from their point of view) , they got angry ~~like an angry bird.~~.. erm...For those who wanna know what's "kepak-kepak" had to do with this entry...It's actually our residential college cheers and it goes like this , "tepuk perindu... tepuk sekali... tepuk dua kali...tepuk amai-amai..belalang kupu-kupu... tepuk adik pandai...kita no.1... kolej perindu... kepak3x~ kolej perindu... kepak3x~~ wooo!!!~ "

Entri Khas : Ihya Ramadhan

Assalamualaikum ,

Apa Khabar anda semua di luar sana? Harap-harap semuanya sihat-sihat belaka la yea. ha..kenapa? Oh , kenapa entri ini dalam bahasa melayu ? Itu persoalan anda..hmm..pertamanya, kerana ini entri khas..nampak tak dekat atas tu tulis entri khas...Justeru itu , makanya lain kali bacain dulu...jangan terus menyerbu gitu..hahaha..indon pulak..maaf , tersasul di situ.

Entri kali ini lebih istimewa kerana ianya bukan hanya dalam bahasa melayu tetapi ia juga tentang ihya ramadhan. "Apa tu ihya ramadhan?", kata si polan kepada rakannya sali . HAHA. (sengaja menggunakan nama sali sebab safee sali jaringkan gol semalam) . Okay , berbalik kepada ihya ramadhan . Ihya ramadhan maksudnya menghidupkan ramadhan. Seperti yang kalian semua ketahui bulan ramadhan bakal tiba tak lama lagi. Sudahkah anda semua bersedia untuk memasuki madrasah ramadhan? (jawab dalam hati , jangan nak jerit-jerit kat sini..haha)

Ramadhan kali ini sangat istimewa buat diri saya kerana buat julung kalinya , saya berpeluang untuk berpuasa penuh...krik3..("lah selama ni budak ni tak pernah puasa penuh ke? hampeh btol !!", getus seorang hamba Allah yang datang jenguk blog ni)..hey.. nanti dulu saya belum habis berbicara..tahun ni sangat istimewa sebab saya dapat puasa penuh sebulan di rumah...(oh , hang habaq la awal2..sekaliku tabuh kang..buat saspen je)..ampun yea jangan lah nak pukul-pukul orang macam tu..kitakan saudara sesama islam..chill bro~~

Sebelum meneruskan lagi perbincangan ini , saya ada masalah sikitlah dalam bahasa melayu (BM) ni..saya tak tahu lah nak guna "saya" atau "aku"...sebab kalau guna "saya" macam formal sangat pulak..kalau guna "aku"..nanti mula lah orang kata..("apew gnew akue2 nie...kuang aja btoi")..hai cik abang , bukan ke masa kita berdoa memohon dengan Allah , kita bahasakan diri kita "aku"..contohnya , "Ya Allah , aku banyak berdosa padaMu..maka Kau ampunilah aku..seseungguhnya aku hambaMu yang lemah"..jadi mulai dari sekarang aku nak bahasakan diriku ini "aku" dalam blog ni..Tak salah rasanya..sebab bukan merosakkan bahasa pun..memang ada dalam kamus dewan bahasa dan pustaka...tak percaya , cuba "check" sendiri.

Perkasakan Bahasa Ibunda !

“Wahai orang-orang yang beriman, diwajibkan bagimu berpuasa, sebagaimana telah diwajibkan pada orang-orang sebelum kamu. Mudah-mudahan kamu bertakwa” (Al Baqarah:183)

Begitulah kewajipan berpuasa disyariatkan kepada kita selama sebulan di bulan ramadhan. Jadi adakah ramadhan pada kali ini kita akan biarkan sahaja tanpa membuat sebarang amal soleh dan memperbaiki diri..sesungguhnya amat rugilah orang-orang yang bersikap sedemikian. Alhamdulillah , Allah masih memberi peluang buat aku untuk bertemu sekali lagi dengan bulan ramadhan..mungkin itu pun masih belum pasti kerana hari ini baru 28 sya'ban..insyaAllah jika ada rezeki , akan bertemu juga dengan bulan ramadhan tak lama lagi.

Jadi selain puasa menahan nafsu lapar dan dahaga di siang hari dan solat sunat terawih di malam hari , apakah lagi amalan yang sangat elok kita lakukan bagi menghidupkan ramadhan ini?

Amalan-amalan yang boleh dilakukan sepanjang bulan ramadhan :-

1. bersedekah kepada fakir miskin.

2. memperbanyakkan berzikir.

3. tadarus Al-quran.

4.menghidupkan malam dengan qiamulail

5.memperbanyakkan amal ibadah di sepuluh malam terakhir ramadhan (Lailatul Qadar):

"Sesiapa yang menghidupkan malam Lailatul Qadar dengan penuh keimanan dan mengharapkan pahala, maka diampunkan baginya dosa yang telah lepas dan sesiapa yang berpuasa di bulan Ramadhan dengan penuh keimanan dan mengharapkan pahala, maka diampunkan baginya dosa yang telah lepas." (Riwayat Bukhari dan Muslim)

6. melakukan amalan-amalan sunat yang lain (Fikirlah sendiri! :D)

Akhir kata , marilah kita bersama-sama menghidupkan ramadhan kali ini kerana kita sendiri tidak mengetahui sama ada kita akan hidup lagi untuk ramadhan yang akan datang. Renung-renungkan dan selamat beramal~~~

P/s : Ya Allah , aku juga ingin berubah menjadi insan yang lebih baik , justeru Engkau berilah HidayahMu kepadaku~~

The biggest "rally" ever~~

Assalamualaikum,

The conversation above described what will be happening today..the biggest "rally" ever..and when I say about rally.. It's not about the "Bersih" rally..It's the "upu" rally..about three hundred thousands students all over Malaysia are attending this "rally" to demand their right to further their studies in local universities..that includes me.

The day have come..Nevertheless, today is Friday so I need to perform my friday prayer. I've decided to check on the result before I went to the mosque.That is not a bad idea..you know in that way my prayer will be more 'khusyuk'.LOL..haha

The clock is ticking..

I'm very nervous..It's almost 12.00 o'clock..anytime now the upu will be open..I can sense shivers running through my spine and I can even hear my heart beats..'lub' 'dub'...the common sound heard during systole and diastole of the heart but it's beating faster right now..

Nervous !

I opened my laptop...turn it on..window 7~~(the usual sound heard when opening computer)..I clicked on the google chrome..and start to type =http://upu.mohe.gov.my/

The link directed me to the upu webpage as seen above..I clicked on Saluran 1 : Lembah Klang and waited for about 15 minutes...the page is still loading..hmm..I guess I need to check it after my friday prayer since the internet is very slow now due to the fact that over 300 000 students checking the upu on the same time..*curse*..that is why..I hate online "rally"..hahaha

Luckily,one of my friend give me a link from utm I suppose..so I clicked on the link..Bismillahirahmanirahim~~

Pre-medicine UiTM (MBS 099)

Assalamualaikum ,

For the past five weeks I've been attending a short course called Pre-medicine in USA (UiTM Shah Alam..haha). So basically, the main objective of this course is to expose the students to the medical field. This entry is very useful for the junior that will be offer to attend this pre-med course ( I know you gonna read this!! haha).

Let me summaries what happened during the 5 weeks course:-

1. You will learn three subjects (anatomy , biochemistry and physiology).

2. You will get a module guide (timetable)

3. ECE visit (Early Clinical exposure)

-You will be visiting Hospital Sg. Buloh , Hospital Selayang and Klinik Kesihatan Tmn Ehsan/Sg. Buloh.

-You will stand a chance to see the real life of a doctor and don't forget to ask around.

4. There will be three test at the end of this course. (oh no!!! not the test~~~)

a) OSPE exam :-

-OSPE exam is an exam where there are 14 station in a lab and you must go through this station and answer each question in every station. So it's kinda like walking around the lab during your practical.

-10 stations will have a question where as the other 4 stations you just have to relax because it's the REST station.

-oh..and don't forget to bring your lab coat and your matrix card.

b) MCQ (Mutiple Choice Question) :-

- The will be 30 question with 5 sub-questions.

-one correct answer you will get 1 mark. wrong answer will be deducted by 1/2 mark.

-the trick is simple if you don't know the answer , just leave it blank..(Hahhahaha) but seriously! Leave it blank or else if you answer it wrongly you lose half mark. So it's either you answer it or don't ! Understand?

"Example"

c) SAQ (Short Answer Question) :-

-there will be 3 questions.Answer it all. (30 marks)

-it's kinda like subjective essay question.

-eg: Describe the metabolism of bilirubin. (10 marks)

5. Enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (seriously just enjoy it..you can go to the Pusat Sukan UiTM in the evening to play)

6. Don't worry about the exam because it's just the beginning of your five years in med school.(It's an exposure by the way)

7. By the way , If you already got invited to this course that means you're 99.9 % in the faculty but you need to pass the exam at least to get the edge against others. Good luck !!! :D

As I woke up this morning , I immediately saw a beautiful scene through my window...I was amazed for "a complete cycle of a pendulum" or maybe two or three cycle..I couldn't remember..Anyway , it was just an estimation.. so I captured the scene and put it in my blog..The picture shown above is the scene that I was mentioning.. I know that today will be the last day I'm here as tomorrow afternoon..12 o'clock sharp..I'll be going home...Frankly speaking , I'm very excited and happy because tomorrow I'll be back at my home sweet home with my family but there is apart of me..which are very sad...and I know all my friends felt the same , although some of them might be hiding it from others..UiTM Puncak Alam have been my second home for the past two semester ( 1 year)... There have been ups and downs along the journey...and it serves me with much experience...I'll be missing my friends and lecturers..I still remembered a few quote from my lecturers...

Dr. Rozana (Chemistry) : "You have been warned!!"..followed by an elegant laugh (ha ha ha)*

Assalamualaikum and greetings everyone!!!

As I wrote on this blog the Egypt is still in crisis..people are protesting on the street..chanting for the president , Hosni Mubarak to step down. For those who don't have any idea what had happened in Egypt, I'll explain briefly about the situation there. Actually the mass protest in Egypt was triggered by the success of the Tunisian in overthrowing their president , Zine al-Abidine Ben Ali by demonstration on the street. After 23 years of autocratic rule, Ben Ali is finally fall on 14 January 2011.This event has provide inspiration to protest movements in other parts of the region including Egypt. Similarly, Hosni Mubarak has rule Egypt for over 30 years. He is described as Pro-American , Pro-Israel and Pro-West.Under his ruling years, the Rafah border crossing has been strictly monitored and it has become difficult for the humanitarian aid to enter Gaza. Thus , I strongly support the Egyptian movement to overthrow their president and hope that if a new government is form , it will be more pro-Islamic.

EGYPT's CRISIS !

Speaking of crisis, I was shocked today as I read The Star Online. It's written that "An average of 60 suicides per months in the country".Malaysia is indeed in crisis ! What is wrong with Malaysian nowadays? Don't you know that suicide will not solve any problem and it's also a huge sin. You may feel that by conducting suicide you are "safe" from the problem occurs in this world but don't forget you will not be safe in the hereafter.You will soon be questioned for what you have done in this world.So think about it before you resort to kill yourself.Understand ! For more info on this issue please refer to The Star Online.

Okay , now lets put that issue aside and focus on my issue. Only 5 weeks left before I "graduated" from my foundation. All the lab report, tutorials and presentations have been done, now the only thing left is the 'EXAM'.

Assalamualaikum and greetings everyone!!!

I’m back !!! hehe xD

Yes , it have been three weeks since I last updated my blog and I’m quite sure all of you are wondering what had happened for the last three weeks??? Wonder no more because I’m here to “fulfill” all your curiosity. As what I’ve written in my last entry , last two weeks I’d Test I and I’ve also obtained the result. The result has clearly shown a warning indicator...like a poison dart frog acquired aposematic coloration or warning colour to warn it’s predator. Physics have been the lowest marks among the four subjects. There is no reason for failures , but then if I could named a few , I will have said that I’d fever two days before physics test and still having fever while doing the test. In fact, I didn’t have a chance to cover all the syllabus because of the fever. Still you can’t blame a fever for not having a good marks..am I right?? Yea of course..there’s always a silver lining behind every clouds. So I’d learnt to accept the failure and move on.

For the other three subjects, biology , chemistry and maths have been an impressive result. Hmm..Speaking about result , I’d also obtained my muet’s result . Alhamdulillah , It has passed the minimum requirement to enter medic faculty in USM. In addition , last week I've also done the last experiment for biology..It seems like everything is going to end soon. No more slides to observed. No more lab report after this~~~

Furthermore , I’ve also register for the UPU and Pohon@USM phase 1. Now , all I can do is to study hard & smart, pray and tawakal to Allah in order for me to achieve CGPA 4.00 , InsyaAllah..Only 8 weeks left before the end of my foundation..It have been a great moment studying in UiTM Puncak Alam , It’s hard for me to leave this place but ~~soon I must~~... T.T

Yes , a week full of ~~excitement~~ assignment !!! It had been a tiring week..lab report , physics presentation , tutorial question and etc...Speaking about physics presentation , we were assigned to present our lab report for about 10 minutes..so basically our experiment is about convex lens. What is convex lens ??? A convex lens is a lens having at least one surface that curves outward like the exterior of a sphere. The related informations are shown below :

It was a cold morning , I was walking down the pavement..a stream of wind rushed through me made me shivered..I tucked my lab coat close to me..thick mist is developing around me..It's common in my campus to have a mist in the morning since it's located at the "peak of the world".That day I just knew that I'm gonna find something..There something about this mist that isn't right..so what's transpire behind this mist ??? Join me to seek the truth hidden behind this mystical mist...

Part 1

That day , I've tutorial class on maths subject at FF4 on the 8^thfloor..Since the tutor did not came yet , I took a stroll past the hallway..As I was walking gleefully down the hallway , suddenly I saw this mysterious structure located hidden behind the FSK 6 building..

I'd managed to capture the picture of the structure and zoom it 3x..I was shocked because actually I've discovered a nuclear reactor inside my campus. Yes , a nuclear reactor!!! I still couldn't believe my eyes..UiTM is enriching a uranium??? Knowing this has give me a dreadful feeling as if a thousands knife is stabbed behind my back. No wonder my campus is located in an isolated place..All this while , they've been building a nuclear reactor hidden from the world.

Part 2

The day past without any incident..I've been thinking back then , it's not so bad having a nuclear reactor inside a campus except for a severe casualties in case the nuclear reactor explode. Besides , I've a few brilliant idea on how to use the nuclear reactor for a good purpose. First , we can build a cable car powered by the nuclear reactor. Thus , making it easier for the student to go back and forth from the hostel to the lecture room. Secondly , we can also build a monorail so that students can move around the campus swiftly. Thirdly , maybe we can also build a tram just like the one in Penang..but if we want to cut cost , an escalator will be good too..No more "Bt. Caves stairs"..hehe

I got a bad feeling before I entered my room...I was very nervous , I don't know why...because of that I hastily tried to unlocked the door and the key fall onto the floor ...I picked up the key and tried the second time..fuhh..it works..but.....the moment I swung open the door..(krreeekkK!!!)..There was this mysterious "thing"...to be precise a "floating object" located near the end of my bed...I was shocked and confused at the same time...then I saw this on the floor..

Without further delay, I took the sample and did a chemical test...The result is positive...It was indeed just a dust...but then why is it blue and pink in colour??? and then came the thought, who did this???? *suspense*

I used all the scientific knowledge I got and draw a conclusion..Now , I know what's that floating object was??? It was.....

It was actually a brand new notice board !!! The dust was due to the drilling of the wall..hahaha

( I cried joyfully ) Yet , little did I know that it was a brief happy moment because then I've to decide how to divide it into two equal section for me and my roommate..After few consideration and to avoid a conflict later on , I have cleverly divided it into two equal section as shown on the figure below :

Salam Alaik !!!

New year 1432 H !!!! Alhamdullilah , grateful to Allah we are still here in this world..still breathing...alive..healthy..Allah has give us a second chance to redeem ourselves. If we talked about Hijrah, it goes back to the time when Prophet Muhammad and Islamic Ummah traveled from Mecca to Medina (once called Yathrib). Many obstacle and barrier encountered along the journey but Prophet Muhammad was very determined to spread Islam in Medina. From Medina, Islam is spread across the Arab continent and to the whole world. We should take lesson from the Hijrah event. Let this new year be better than last year..Let's "hijrah" to be a better person.

"Sesungguhnya Allah tidak mengubah apa yang ada pada sesuatu kaum sehingga mereka mengubah apa yang ada pada diri mereka sendiri"

The cunning !! venomous !!! Good in camouflage insect!!!

The no. 1 insect that students try to avoid direct contact with in UiTM Puncak Alam and several other universities I suppose.

Facts :

-Only less than 1 cm long.

-Their bodies contain the toxin paederin (hence paederous dermatitis) that causes burn on human skin whenever they are crushed.

-During daytime, the beetle will be seen crawling around swiftly with hidden wings resembling ants.

-When disturbed it raises the abdomen in a threatening gesture like a scorpion and can fly away.

-Attracted to light.

-Can run on water swiftly.

-It is carnivorous and eat small insects.

-Even The Star had once reported about it.

Thus , I urged all of you to be very wary !!! Beware !!! The Dark side has returned !!!!

This annoying insects can also be found at the "bt. caves" stairs...under my pillow..on my bed..in the toilet...inside my shoes...they are everywhere...

Now, before I slept I'll have to check on my bed and under my pillow..I even brush my bed with my blanket to ensure that I'm absolutely safe to sleep on my bed.

This is why I post this entry...to paid tribute to charlie the bug that had made me and my roommate in psychological trauma...thanks a lot!!!

P/S: Many of us had barely survive by a scar!!! Others may be fortunate that includes me..

2nd Sem : Day 5 (Week 1)

It's Friday !!! That means I've been here for one week now. Thirteen more weeks to go~~~

Ok. What I'm gonna post today has nothing to do with anything except Mosquitoes!!!

yup mosquitoes!! The tiny little creature. Why???
Because today as I walked to my lecture room, I spotted this banner about "Cemuh Denggi".

I found it very ridiculous and funny.Why do we need to insult the mosquito???They're also one of the God's creation.Yes, they suck blood from human and spread diseases but just because of that its doesnt give us rights to oust them..destroy their home..kill their larvae..Once again I asked you "Why???"

Where is our humanity???

Ironically , we do have some similarities with mosquitoes. First, we said mosquitoes are bad because they sucks blood..we also have human who "sucks blood" or rather in malay we call it "cekik darah". Don't believe me??? Well, just walk to the nearest grocery shop and ask for a packet of sugar.They'll sell the sugar two to three times the real price of the sugar.

Secondly , we said mosquitoes spread disease.Among us also have people who spread diseases that is far more worst than dengue.Take for example, HIV,AIDS,HINI & etc.Thirdly , we said mosquitoes make annoying loud noise behind our ears...Then, how about people who like to talk bad about other (gossip)..Isn't that hurts our ears to hear it??

Conclusion :

Some human ~~are bad~~ =mosquitoes ~~are bad~~

2nd Sem : Day 4

Lecture starts at 12.30 p.m so I'd to take a brunch around 11.00 o'clock. No lecture for BIO 096.Ended at 1.00 p.m.Then we "rushed" to DKF(9) for physics lecture. The lecture room is situated about 200m away.Sadly , when we arrived our usual places (sit) front left "flank" have been "ruthlessly" taken by some girls from the new group D4 or E5.(T.T).Yea before I forgot , our new group consist of A1,A2,A3,D4,E5 which were previously A1,A2,A3,A4 & A5.With a disappointed faces , we went to sit at the front right "flank" instead.Our "rights" had been greatly violated.It was indeed a "darkest" day in the "world" history that shall be remembered for a few more years (not really xD).That was not the worst part yet , when the lecture has ended I'd to carry about 10 kg of textbooks (three textbooks) behind my back while "crawling" up the "bt caves" stairs.Can you believe it??? Believe it or not~~~

2nd Sem : Day 3

Today no lecture , no lab , no tutorial. Boring. . . entered MAT 098 ( 8.30 a.m) lecture that just briefed us about the syllabus for this sem.Lecture ended at 9.00 a.m . Free for the rest of the day.So my friends & I decided to go to the reading room at PSB. We read some newspaper and there was this North Korea's artillery attacks (Tuesday) on a South Korean island and the return of fire by South Korea. South Korea was conducting military drills in the area at the time but said it had not been firing at the North, which recently revealed a major new aspect to its nuclear programme.Two South Korean soldiers were dead and several people injured.South Korea warned North Korea of "enormous retaliation" if it took more aggressive steps after Pyongyang fired scores of artillery shells at a South Korean island in one of the heaviest attacks on its neighbour since the Korean War ended in 1953.While U.S. President Barack Obama said he would tell China, the only country close to an ally to the reclusive North, that it must tell Pyongyang that "there are a set of international rules they must abide by."

Meanwhile , Malaysia has expressed concern over the heightened tension in the Korean peninsula, following North Korea's artillery attacks Tuesday on a South Korean island and the return of fire by South Korea.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman said Malaysia condemned the incident on Yeonpyeong Island which left two South Korean soldiers dead and several people injured.

"Malaysia calls on all quarters to avoid resorting to action which can escalate the tension and generate instability in this region," he said in a statement Wednesday.

Anifah said Malaysia hoped that all quarters would strive to maintain peace and stability in the Korean peninsula and concentrate efforts on measures to build trust and confidence. - Bernama

2nd Sem : Day 2

I woke up at 7.00 o'clock in the morning (physics's lecture starts at 8.30 a.m.). After doing the common things every morning (taken my usual breakfast that is nestum 3 in 1,nature's call & etc), went down the "bt. caves" stairs again , met farhan & fauzan halfway down. Then we walked to the lecture room together (arrived very early , only a few people were there). New lecturer (Prof. Zuhairusnizam) will be teaching us physics for this sem .Learned about Oscillation, simple harmonic motion & energy in the simple harmonic motion. New chapter (wave motion) will be continued on thursday.No tutorial classes for this week.

2nd Sem : Day 1

Today,there was a briefing about degree programme at 9.00 a.m till 11.30 a.m. After performing zuhur prayer & eaten my lunch , went down the "bt. caves" stairs for lecture BIO 096 (suppose to starts at 2.10 p.m & ends at 4 .00 p.m) that was cancelled later on. Next , went to Asasi Centre to buy chemistry textbook (RM 32).

Then climbed back the "bt. caves" stairs , went to Rafflesia office for college registration..back in the room at 3.oo p.m. Awesome =)

Suddenly, I remembered a favourite quote from Ustazah Nurul Ain..."Bila nak berubah??"(When do you want to change??)..she always said this before she gave us some lecture..then we will replied "sekarang" (now) with low enthusiasm..but now I realise the needs to change..to transform..to migrate from bad to good..from good to better and from better to best..paradigm shift..the recent result has gave me a wake up call..to study harder and smarter..to not take things for granted..and the most important part is to be closer to Allah..

We all do make mistakes..sometimes that mistakes make us feel like we can't repent and that is way too late..but don't despair because Allah is always by our side..ask for His forgiveness..Insyaallah..for now onwards I will turn over a new leaf..to be a better mukmin..

Mother's Day From Islam Perspective

Assalamualaikum ,

First of all, it goes without saying that every committed Muslim is supposed to pay his parents, especially his mother, due respect. One should try to show dutifulness to one's parents, even if they happened to be non-Muslims, let alone being Muslims. What Islam goes against is to imitate non-Muslims by marking a special occasion such as celebrating the Mother's Day in a way that shows that mothers do not deserve due respect and care save on this very day. If we are going to make the whole year a Mother's Day, then Islam welcomes celebrating the occasion with open arms.

Indeed, Muslim scholars have maintained various opinions regarding the issue. Here below we will attempt to furnish you with Juristic views as regard this issue:

First of all, Sheikh Faysal Mawlawi, deputy chairman of the European Council for Fatwa and Research, states:

Dutifulness to parents, especially the mother, and treating them kindly is an act of worship enjoined in both the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Being dutiful to parents is not confined to a specific time. It is an obligation that should be observed every time, as all people commonly know.

Yet, the Mother's Day, as it's known nowadays is a Western habit. The Westerners specified a day and called it the Mother's Day. On that day sons and daughters show gratefulness to their mothers and offer them presents. It has become part of important feasts in the West, whereas we Muslims have no other festivals except the Lesser and the Greater Bairams. Any other celebrations are deemed mere occasions or anniversaries; and this is applied to the Mother's Day.

The Mother's Day implies paying more attention and exerting more effort in expressing gratitude to mothers. So there is nothing wrong in that.

However, there are two reservations worth mentioning; first, considering the Mother's Day a feast; second, confining the task of showing dutifulness to mothers to that specific day, giving implication that throughout the whole year, just only one day is for showing love to parents. If such two anomalous points are addressed, then there is nothing wrong in considering the Mother's Day a chance to give more care to mothers.

Thus, we may take the Mother's Day as a chance to lay more emphasis on our duty towards our mothers, as Islam enjoins us, because dutifulness to parents is a genuine Islamic teaching. But Muslims, in doing that, should never deviate from the Islamic teachings, they should do things in Islamic manners, not in Western manners. Hence, they would not be imitating the non-Islamic habits of the West.

Hence, viewed in juristic perspective, we can say that celebrating the Mother's day is controversial among the contemporary scholars. While a group of them consider it haram (unlawful) as a kind of blind imitation of the Western non-Islamic habits, which have no benefit for Muslims, another group see it halal (lawful) on condition that showing gratitude and dutifulness to parents should not be confined to that day only.

Moreover, the well known erudite scholar Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi states:

The Arab tend to blindly follow the Western in their celebration of the Mother's Day, without trying to understand the wisdom behind inventing such an occasion.

When the European found that children do not deal properly towards their parents nor give them their due right, they resorted to specifying an annual occasion for children to remedy the situation. But in Islam, mothers are to be given due respect and love every time, not only one day a year. For example, when one goes out, he kisses one's mother's hand seeking her pleasure and blessing.

A Muslim must not allow any gap between him and his mother, he must offer her presents every time. This indicates that Muslims can dispense with such an occasion, the Mother's Day. Unlike the case in the West, where it's a vogue for some children to show indifference to their mothers' feelings, and, what's more, it is so common to see some parents being dragged to infirmaries (as their kids have no time for them), dutifulness to parents in Islam, alongside with worshipping Allah, is a sacred duty.

In this concern, Almighty Allah says:

(And We have commended unto man kindness toward parents. His mother beareth him with reluctance, and bringeth him forth with reluctance, and the bearing of him and the weaning of him is thirty months, till, when he attaineth full strength and reacheth forty years, he saith: My Lord! Arouse me that I may give thanks for the favor wherewith Thou hast favored me and my parents, and that I may do right acceptable unto Thee. And be gracious unto me In the matter of my seed. Lo! I have turned unto Thee repentant, and lo! I am of those who surrender (unto Thee).)
(Al-Ahqaf 46: 15)

Reflecting on the aforementioned Qur'anic verse, we find it stressing both parents' right, but reviewing the following verses we find them paying special care to the mother and tackling the hardships she suffers in pregnancy, fosterage and rearing children.

In this verse, Almighty Allah informs man of the debt he owes his mother since he was a fetus, passing by the process of childbirth, infancy, childhood until he comes of age. A child normally forgets the hardship which his mother underwent during pregnancy. Hence Almighty Allah draws his attention to such hardships, laying emphasis on her great status in Islam.

Finally, Dr. `Abdul Fattah `Ashoor, professor of Qur'an Exegisis at Al-Azhar University, concludes:

Holding celebrations in honoring others and commemorating anniversaries are neither feasts nor Islamic. But one may seize any chance to express gratitude to those who deserve it. This is how we should consider the Mother's Day. The mother has a special place in the Islamic culture, and all other civilized cultures. So it is something good to do anything to please her and show gratefulness to her.

So dedicating a day to showing good feelings towards parents, especially the mother, is by no means blameworthy as it does not contradict the Islamic teachings, nor can it be merely considered a form of joining the Western vogue of making celebrations. Conversely, it is a kind of devotion to Allah's orders that we should be dutiful to our parents.

It has been a month since I last updated my blog...there's something I wanted to share to all of u...Alhamdullilah, I get an offer to further my studies in matriculation Banting, Selangor...Yes , it was indeed a joyous moment for me because I never expect to get somewhere near my hometown..To "nenek" , nabil , haziq , anep , zati and few others look like it's gonna be a reunion for us...haha

Assalamualaikum...

For the past few days, I've been filling up the UPU forms and etc and it is finally over...now, I leave it to Allah to decide which is the best for me...I have also attended an exhibition called "Selangkah ke UiTM" at Kompleks Belia dan Kebudayaan, Shah Alam with my father...There, they said in order to take MBBS..I must first take the foundation in science at UiTM for about two semester( 1 year)...and get minimum CGPA of 3.5..but usually you have to get 3.8 and above because the competition is high...I hope I will get this one...hee~

P/S : Good luck and all the best to my friends out there who are still searching for their course...My advise is choose it carefully and be sure that you are interested in that course...and do remember "It doesn't matter where you start , what matter is where you end"...Teehee ^_^

SPM RESULT!!!!!!!!!!!!

After three months of waiting finally SPM result is out!!!! Alhamdullilah, I managed to get 8 A's and 3 B's...It was a relief and although I did not get straight A's , I'm very grateful for what I got...as my principle is "Failure is not the end , instead failure is the beginning of many more successes"....I would like to congratulate my cousin, Mikhail whom got straight A's...keep it up and I'll be there to catch up...haha...and to my rival "ehem2" don't forget our deal...hee~

Next move, doing some research about my option!!!!

Our Fajr Double Advantage

The key to spiritual and material success for Muslims!

"Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise" - a famous maxim coined by the American scientist, writer and inventor, Benjamin Franklin. And he was not alone in these beliefs. The writer Samuel Johnson also warned that "nobody who does not rise early will ever do any good".

This is not just opinion but proven scientific fact. A study by researchers at Brigham Young University in Provo in the American state of Utah found that:

"students who habitually go to bed late and sleep late the next day have lower grade point averages (GPAs) than students with early-to-bed and early-to-rise sleeping habits. The later students slept in the morning, the lower their grades tended to be. Out of all the factors studied, weekday and weekend wakeup times had the strongest association with students' GPAs. Each hour over the average that students slept in on weekdays was associated with a 0.13-point drop on the GPA (0.0-4.0 scale)."

Of course, we Muslims are well used to getting up not just at the crack of dawn but actually half an hour before it to begin the day with the ritual worship of fajr salat (and even earlier in Ramadan before starting the day's fast).

Spiritual Success

What are the spiritual blessings of fajr salat?

According to a hadith recorded in Sahih Muslim, prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him) stated that the action which is dearest to God is salat at its proper times. On another occasion prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him) also said to his companions:

"The five set prayers may be compared to a stream of fresh water, flowing in front of your house, into which you plunge five times each day. Do you think that would leave any dirt on your body?' When they replied: 'None at all!' Mohammed (Peace be upon him) said: 'Indeed the five prayers remove sins, just as water removes dirt."
(Bukhari, Muslim)

And once while standing beside a tree in autumn, he stated:

"When a Muslim observes his salat with due attention and devotion, he sheds his sins just like this tree is shedding its leaves." (Ahmad)

Moreover, in the Quran we are told that prostrating (in salat) brings us closer to God (96:1).

Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him) also tells us that fajr salat along with isha is particularly rich in blessings:

"If people only knew what blessings are in the fajr and isha prayers, they would come to them, even if they had to crawl."
(Bukhari and Muslim)

And according to Utham, (RA), prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him) said:

"To perform the dawn prayer, [fajr], in congregation is like keeping vigil throughout the night." (Muslim).

Material Success

In Surah 23, ayats 1-2 of the Quran we learn that:

"Certainly the believers have succeeded, those who offer salat with devotion."

Spiritual success certainly. But as Muslims we are also called upon not just to earn spiritual blessings for the next world but also to be materially successful in this one. Despite the obvious call to work hard and make the most of our abilities demonstrated in the parable of the talents, the Christian West has often had an ambiguous attitude towards wealth, sometimes glorifying poverty and misinterpreting Jesus's gospel statement that "love of money is the root of all evil" to mean that money itself is the root of all evil. As a Muslim, I am more inclined to agree with the playwright George Bernard Shaw who is reported to have said that "lack of money is the root of all evil".

[Shaw was an admirer of prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him) and in the 1936 book The Genuine Islam referred to him as "the wonderful man" and "the saviour of humanity".]

Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him) himself stated:

"There will dawn a time over people when the destruction of a man will be at the hands of his wife, parents, and children. They will humiliate him because of his poverty and will make such demands which will induce him to engage in such activities (to gain more money) which will finally destroy his religion."
- Baihaqi. Narrated by Ibn Mas'ood (RA) and Abu Hurairah (RA)

The other side of the coin, so to speak, is:

"How excellent is the wealth of the Muslim".
- Sahih Bukhari hadith 4.95 Narrated by Abu Said Al Khudri (RA)

It is wealth which enables us to take care of our families, keep on the straight path and avoid doing wrong in order to make ends meet. It is wealth which enables us to meet our obligation to pay Zakat. It is wealth which enables us to help others and contribute to Dawah through additional charity. It is wealth which enables us to meet our obligation to go on Hajj.

It was wealthy Muslim traders who peacefully spread Islam throughout West Africa and the areas we now know as Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei. And if we look at the first generation of Muslims, we find the shining example of Abdur-Rahman Ibn Awl. The eighth person to embrace Islam, he migrated twice to Abyssinia. Abdur-Rahman distinguished himself in both the battles of Badr and Uhud, suffering more than twenty wounds at the latter. Then starting with nothing, he went on to achieve tremendous success as a merchant, becoming the richest of the companions. From his great wealth, Abdur-Rahman financed the Muslim armies, contributed to the upkeep of the family of Mohammed (Peace be upon him) after the prophet's death and was universally renowned for his fabulous generosity.

So how can we turn getting up for Fajr to our material advantage? Certainly not by slinking back into bed again and snuggling up for another few hours. As prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him) said:

"The most excellent jihad is that for the conquest of self." (Bukhari)

In the context of fajr, what this means is, once up, stay up! Stay up and do something useful. Work on your goals. If you don't have any, set some. Decide what you want to achieve in life. Devise a plan to make those goals a reality then take action. You will be amazed at what you can get done in those few quiet hours when most of the rest of the world is still asleep. You can organise your day, learn a language, work on your degree course or get fit by going jogging in the coolness of the morning.

You can also turn staying up after fajr to your career advantage by driving into work earlier, beating the traffic then packing so much productive work into the next hour without interruption because no one is there to pop into your office and the phone hasn't started ringing yet.

A further fajr advantage is that along the way you can listen on cassette to the wisdom and inspiration of motivational and business speakers. We spend hundreds of ours commuting in our cars every year, by some estimates the equivalent to two full terms of university tuition. Put this time to good use, especially first thing in the morning when you are relaxed and driving on a virtually empty road, when you are bright and fresh and can best take it all in. Turn your car into a university on wheels.

Each of our lives is different, but you know how to apply these ideas to your own situation.

Take action now!

"Ah, that's too hard", I hear you say. Well God assures us in the Quran that:

"We do not lay a burden on anyone beyond his capacity." (Quran: 23:62)

It is possible to turn these early hours to great advantage. It's desirable and it's beneficial. We are obliged to get up for fajr anyway. From this we derive a spiritual advantage. Let's stay up and get to work. Why have just one type of advantage when we can have two - spiritual and material. As Muslims we are uniquely placed. The next fajr is less than 24 hours from now. First thing tomorrow morning make sure that you take advantage of your fajr double advantage.

Shorter compulsory public service period for docs mulled

PETALING JAYA: The Government is mulling over whether to reduce the compulsory public service period for doctors to two years.

Currently, medical graduates are required to do two years of housemanship and three years of compulsory public service.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Ismail Merican said yesterday that the ministry was looking into it and would announce a decision as soon as possible.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai had earlier yesterday refuted suggestions that the Government would extend the compulsory public service to 10 years.

“It is not true. We are not going to extend it to 10 years.

“We are looking to cut it short,” he said in a press conference after launching B-Nes Sdn Bhd.

Earlier this month, Minister in Prime Minister’s department Senator Datuk T. Murugiah suggested that doctors’ compulsory public service be extended to up to 10 years to ease the shortage of doctors in the country.

Liow said that the reduced service time would make it more attractive for doctors to continue working for the Government.

He said that there were about 300 to 400 doctors leaving the country every year while the number of trainee doctors had increased to 3,000 from 700 in 2001.

“If you force them to work, they will tend to leave.

“You must create attractiveness and better incentives,” Liow said, adding that if the ruling was implemented, it would take effect for the new batch of medical graduates as the current batch have a fixed learning schedule.

When asked if this would apply to doctors working abroad, he replied that specialists and doctors above the age of 40, do not need to serve the compulsory service.

Meanwhile, Liow said that Malaysian doctors would not be effected by the implementation of the Asian Free Trade Area (Afta) agreement this year as they are able to compete with foreign doctors.

He also said that there would not be an oversupply of doctors because of the liberalisation.

Cardiologist vs Cardiothoracic surgeon?

People might misunderstood that a cardiologist and a cardiothoracic surgeon has the same job...actually they are DIFFERENT from each other..here are some of the differences between between them:

Cardiologist

A cardiologist is above all else, a medical (rather than a surgical) doctor. Cardiologists are trained first in the area of internal medicine which requires 3 years of specialty training beyond medical school. Once this has been completed, these "internists" are qualified to apply for opportunities to obtain additional training in the subspeciality of cardiology. Cardiologists are typically board certified in both internal medicine and their chosen field of cardiology. There are even subspecialties within cardiology including things like electrophysiology and interventional cardiology which involves performing types of procedures that fish thin tubes up the arteries till they reach the heart, and then using these to help open up blockages in the arteries that supply oxygen to the heart muscle.

Cardiologists are focused ONLY on the management of disease processes which affect the function of the heart, and their primary method of treating disease is by the use of medications. However, there are cardiologist specialists which manage the placement and control of pacemaker type devices, and there are cardiolgists that do these invasive catheter-directed procedures mentioned above. Cardiology is predominantly a medicine related field, but of the medicine related disciplines, this is one of the more intensive ones in terms of the amount of actual procedures performed.

Cardiothoracic surgeon

A cardiothoracic surgeon is, above all else, a surgical doctor. CT surgeons are first trained for at least 5 years in a general surgery training program, leading to where they can become board certified in the field of general surgery. Following this, these surgeons become eligible to apply for and obtain additional training in the subspecialty of cardiothoracic surgery which typically requires an additional 3 years of training. CT surgeons are typically board certified in both general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery.

Cardiothoracic surgeons perform operations on the heart muscle, the heart valves, the arteries to the heart, the great vessels of the chest, the lung with it's spongy tissue, it's air passages and blood vessels, as well as on the chest wall muscles, nerves, blood vessels and bones. Many cardiothoracic surgeons also take care of problems of the esophagus (which lies in the chest) and hernias of the abdomen in which organs slide into the chest. Additionally, some cardiothoracic surgeons subspecialize in surgeries for very young children with heart defects, or in heart and lung transplantation.

Although there are areas of overlap between these two fields, the primary difference is between a specialty which is centrally MEDICAL and another which is centrally SURGICAL.

Of note, neither of these specialties can function without the presence of the other.

and as for me I want to become a cardiothoracic surgeon....Teehee XD
